The highlights of the Chandrashila trek include magnificent views of Mt. Chaukhamba, Tungnath temple (the World's highest Lord Shiva temple), and scenic Deoriatal Lake. One can be a nature lover or a pro trekker or a photographer or a bird-watching amateur; the trek disappoints none. The Chandrashila trek begins from a small village named, Sari located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand at the height of 6,601 feet and it terminates at Chopta, which is a tiny settlement and is the gateway to Tungnath temple and Chandrashila peak (13,116 feet). The difficulty level of this trek is easy and is recommended for novice trekkers as well as experienced ones.
Detailed Itinerary
Start - Journey starts from Delhi
- Report at the departure point (Akshardham Metro Station) and meet our Representative. Later start your trip from Delhi (the seller will send timings after the booking).
- Have some snacks offered by our Representative.
- Enjoy your overnight journey from Delhi to Sari Village in luxury AC coach bus or Traveller vehicle.
Day 1 - Devprayag | Chopta arrival & acclimatization
- Catch some enchanting tourist attractions on the way to Chopta.
- Enjoy the beautiful valleys, fresh air and tall mountains on your long drive through the winding roads of the Himalayas towards Chopta.
- Visit some famous tourists attractions like - Devprayag (Sangam of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda, Maa Dhari Devi Temple and Sri Nagar Dam.
- Reach Chopta and check-in to your rooms/camps.
- The rest of the day is left for your leisure to rest and wake-up fresh the next day.
Day 2 - Trek to Tungnath & Chadrashila Peak
- Wake up early & Witness the beautiful sunrise.
- After a filling breakfast, start your trek to Tungnath.
- Today, the hike will be filled with steep climbing challenges with sharp turns to cross by.
- Reach Tungnath & pay your respect at the highest Shiva Temple. From Tungnath, you will also get a clear vision of a connecting peak to Chandrashila.
- Start your journey to most astonished Chandrashila peak. Reach the summit and witness a 360-degree enchanting view of the Garhwal and Kumaon mountains welcomingly lying ahead.
- Notable peaks in this panorama of grandeur are - Nanda Devi, Trishul, Nandaghunti, Dronagiri, Chaukhamba, and Kedar. Glimpses of the Thalaysagar and Gangotri ranges, too, could be made out at the edges.
- Come back to your camps by evening, have a delicious dinner and sleep overnight under a sky full of stars.
Day 3 - Deoriatal Trek | Sightseeing | Depart for Delhi
- Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast with a mesmerising view around.
- Head to Sari Village (Starting point for Deoriatal Trek).
- Start your trek to astonishing Deoriatal.
- Reach Deoriatal lake & enjoy the stunning view. A grand vista of Chaukhamba massifs is unveiled in the lake's background, a paradise for bird-watchers and nature lovers.
- Trek back to Sari Village & Depart for Delhi with amazing trip memories.
End - Back to Delhi
- Arrive in Delhi in the morning, tentatively 6 AM, with a beautiful lifetime experience.
